Sunset Recreation
is a state-of-the-art 32 lane bowling center located in Albany, New
York. Our center has a storied history, built in 1940 and owned
and operated by the Hoffman family ever since. In 1999, we completely
remodeled our center (before and after - middle right and left) to the
look we know today. We have
undergone many transformations since Charles Hoffman opened with 16
lanes and pinboys in 1940. In 1951, 8 lanes were added (lanes
25-32), and in 1955, 8 more were put in place (lanes 17-24). And
as the automatics took effect, we installed AMF pinspotters in 1956.
Jack Twardy rolled our first 300 game in 1953, and the great Don Carter
made an appearance at the height of his career in 1954.
We take pride in the way we serve our customers, and we treat
everyone like family. In addition to our Sunset Tavern and our
great snack bar, we have the AMF Accuscore scoring system, Cyber Bowl
for our birthday parties since 1993, and bumpers for the kids on 24
lanes. |
